Now in its 11th season, the Nike Summer Showcase is considered by most analysts and collegiate basketball coaches to be the most competitive and prestigious NCAA-certified event in the United States.
Featuring 288 teams and close to 4,000 student-athletes from 44 states and Canada, the Showcase is one of the largest and most geographically diverse basketball tournaments in North America. It remains one of just four elite Nike-sponsored girls' basketball events conducted in the July observation period, status it has held since 1999.
In 2008 the Showcase confirmed attendance of a record 511 college basketball coaches, including representatives from virtually every NCAA Division I and II institution along with dozens of Division III, NAIA and junior college coaches.
The 2009 Showcase will be conducted July 11-14 on 28 courts in the Northwest Chicago Suburbs. For the 11th consecutive season, the event is sold-out.
